About Journey · The team and the why
See what the research says

The team building the friend that texts first.

Journey was founded on a simple research finding: students don't lack information, they lack a kind, well-timed nudge. Everything we make follows from that.

Mission

We help students break free from unconscious technology use.

Vision

Redefine how people interact with technology, making it a source of empowerment that encourages intentional living.

Five beliefs we build on.

Every product decision traces back to one of these. They keep us honest when the easier path is louder.

01

Technology should work for you.

Not the other way around. Every notification should earn its place in your day.

02

Depth over hype.

Three texts a week that land beat thirty that don't. We optimize for the moment the student replies.

03

Augment human support.

Journey never replaces the advisor, the counselor, or the friend. It surfaces students to the people already there to help.

04

Privacy first.

Student replies are theirs. Staff see signals, not transcripts, unless the student asks for the handoff.

05

Small actions compound.

One nudge, one reply, one extra office hour booked. The retention number is the trailing average of a thousand tiny moves.
