Thinking that you are obligated to behave or act or feel a certain way. Believing that
things have to be a certain way. These usually involve “should” or “must”
statements.

Examples: I should never feel angry. I must go to the gym five days a week.

Tip: Instead of pressuring yourself with unrealistic expectations that may or may not
be doable, use more compassionate and realistic statements.

Reframe: My goal is to react less angrily compared to last week. I want to go to the gym
five days a week.
